Want to know the G-Force? Try this simulator.(English)

Ever wanted to experience the sensation of being inside a cockpit, as it loops in the sky, like a real pilot of the Red Bull Air Racing? Or what you feel in the middle of a NASCAR race? The TechTudo know that for us, addicted to technology, it's kinda hard to get a ride as co-pilot, but I need not go so far to feel the real G-force in such situations. Just a month at the Exhibition Center immigrants in Sao Paulo.

The simulator, called Motion FX, was designed by three engineering students and is on display at Campus Party Brazil 2011, all visitors showing a real feeling of being inside a cockpit race car or an airplane.

To be able to simulate the G-Force, Motion FX has two engines and two shafts that rotate 360 degrees, which act as the user moves the game ahead, simulating loops and rollovers, for example.

One of the project leaders, Peter Boessio, explained that the Motion FX is equipped with speakers, 5.1 channel, helping to simulate the "sound image". Thus, the experience offers a complete environment for immersion of the game scenario, full of sound effects characteristic, like the sound of engines, excessive speed, wind, among others.

Motion FX is a system composed of two engines, a computer, speakers, a TV, besides the basic structure set up to take the hit of the maneuvers. He still has a program that captures information from the games and turns them into positions, giving motion to it.

According to the creators, the project began as a hobby. The project cost was around U.S. $ 15 000, only counting the stuff. "It started as a toy and is gaining a great proportion. There are many people coming through here and is impressed, "said Peter Boessio, which also revealed the interest of some companies to acquire the project.

With reduced funding, the three students - Peter Boessio of Mechanical Engineering, Peter John, graduated in Mechatronics, and Gabriel, also a student - used recycled materials and scraps of other papers as well as the TV, which was taken from the room itself be Peter.

Who wants to try the toy, unfortunately will have to arrange a way to enter the Campus Party, since the simulator is only available in the area of the event participants.
